Last week, at the  Kind und Jugend, we unveiled the 5 point plus anti-escape system to the world’s leading child car seat manufacturers.

The reception from manufacturers was excellent. We also had an incredible response from major retailers and distributors from around Europe.

I would like to thank them all for taking time out of their busy schedules and for clearly demonstrating their enthusiasm for our innovation.

I can definitely say that after this exhibition, retailers and manufacturers are excited by the arrival of the 5 point plus system.

We are very pleased to say that we are thrilled by the level of interest shown in the 5 point plus innovation.

Our appointment diary for Thursday and Friday this week is just about full!

Saturday and Sunday are not as busy, but this was expected.

The 5 point plus will be launched at the Kind und Jugend trade fair in Cologne (16th – 19th September 2010).

We are pleased to announce that after two rounds of judging, the 5 point plus has reached the finals of the BPA Innovation awards for 2010. The winner will be announced 19th October 2010, during the trade fair in Harrogate.

From our own research talking to parents, we determined that more than 70% of children fastened in car seats with the 5 point harness manage to wriggle and get their shoulders out of the shoulder straps.

There were 1,669 serious or fatal injuries reported for infants aged up to 4 years old whilst travelling in a car.

Non reported injuries could be far higher as injury due to lap belt is not visible to parent / guardian.

Consequences may not be known until a later date.
